RANDOLPH _ Mendham's Sarah Zimmermann has an abundance of musical talent, performing with the New Jersey Youth Chorus as a mezzo soprano and playing the trumpet in the high school's marching band.
Zimmermann also possesses exceptional fencing abilities.
Groething has winning touch
ROCKAWAY _ Willamina Groething considered herself unathletic before joining the Morris Hills High School fencing team as a freshman.
Now a senior, Groething has made great strides over the last four seasons. On her wish list? A trip to the districts.

GLEN GARDNER _ Alex Boden considered Mendham's fifth-place finish at the Santelli Tournament "pretty good."
"We hoped for better but it wasn't bad," said Boden, a senior who fences sabre.

MENDHAM _ Mendham's varsity fencers spend as much time as possible helping the younger girls in the program.
Seniors Alex Boden and Kaitlyn Wallace, along with the other veterans on the team, have a lot of pride and are more than willing to pass on what they've learned.

CHATHAM _ With Morris Knolls ahead, 13-12, Galen Polise did her part, winning her epee bout to pull Chatham even.
After that, Polise, a senior co-captain, returned to being a cheerleader, providing encouragement to her teammates.
Mendham fencers pushed season to the limit
ROCKAWAY _ Ryan Western, of course, doesn’t like to lose but she wasn’t going to hang her head after the Mendham girls fencing team pushed its season to the limit.
