Ally Detre had a hat trick and Kendall Cornine added a goal and three assists to highlight Morristown-Beard's 6-0 win over Oak Knoll on Wednesday, Feb. 18.
Detre had the first, third and sixth goals for the Crimson (16-1). Her goal 3:22 into the first period gave Morristown-Beard a 1-0 edge and was assisted by Kathleen McNamara.
Cornine struck a minute later, boosting the lead to 2-0. McNamara and Keegan Heher had the other scores for the Crimson.
Shady Side 3, Morristown-Beard 2
The Crimson suffered their first loss of the season, falling 3-2 in overtime to Shady Side of Pittsburgh, Pa. in the Women's Interscholastic Hockey League of the Mid-Atlantic title game on Monday, Feb. 16.
Rachel Khalouf registered the decisive goal for Shady Side against Morristown-Beard, five-time defending WIHLMA champion.
A goal by Kathleen McNamara tied the score, 2-2, for the Crimson (15-1) with a minute remaining in regulation. Morristown-Beard's first goal came off the stick of Kendall Cornine, the top scorer in Crimson history, late in the second period.
Morristown-Beard 5, Princeton Day 0
Kendall Cornine figured in every score, notching two goals and three assists when the Morristown-Beard shut out Princeton Day in a Women's Interscholastic Hockey League of the Mid-Atlantic semifinal on Sunday, Feb. 15.
Other scorers for the Crimson (15-0) were Keegan Heher, Ally Detre and Christina D'Alessandro. Heher also had a pair of assists for Morristown-Beard, which gained a 4-0 lead in the opening period.
Maggie O'Connell turned in a 10-save effort.
Morristown-Beard 7, Princeton Day 1
Kendall Cornine had two goals and four assists to fuel Morristown-Beard when it defeated Princeton Day on Tuesday, Feb. 10.
Cornine's second goal, which was scored with 8:41 remaining in the second period, was the 100th of her high school career.
Morristown-Beard, undefeated after 14 games, received two goals each from Keegan Heher and Kathleen McNamara. Ally Detre added a goal.
Heher opened the scoring for the Crimson, converting 1:04 into the game. Maggie O'Connell had nine saves for the winners.
Morristown-Beard 3, Portledge 1
The Crimson erupted for three goals in the third period to notch a come-from-behind win over Portledge of New York on Wednesday, Feb. 4.
Kendall Cornine scored what proved to the winning goal, snapping a 1-1 deadlock with 5:02 left. Kathleen McNamara and Keegan Heher set up the score. Cornine also tallied the third goal with 52 seconds left.
Heher was responsible for the equalizer, which drew Morristown-Beard (13-0) even 2:49 into the final period.
Morristown-Beard 6, Mater Dei 2
Ally Detre, Kendall Cornine and Kathleen McNamara had two goals apiece to highlight Morristown-Beard's win over Mater Dei on Friday, Jan. 30.
Cornine also was on the assist side of two scoring plays. Mater Dei was ahead, 2-1, after Tabitha Franceschini converted with 53 seconds left in the first period. However, the Crimson made it 2-2 on McNamara's goal with seven seconds remaining in the second period. Detre, a freshman, put Morristown-Beard up, 3-2, by connecting 6:22 into the third period.
Maggie O'Connell finished with 14 saves for the Crimson, now 12-0.
Morristown-Beard 3, The Hill School 0
Kendall Cornine struck for two goals when the Crimson shut out The Hill School of Pottstown, Pa. on Wednesday, Jan. 28.
Cornine opened the scoring 2:38 into the first period. She also had the third goal for Morristown-Beard (11-0) with 9:53 left in the third stanza.
In between Cornine's scores, Keegan Heher had a third-period power-play goal.
Morristown-Beard 4, The Hill School 3
Third-period goals by Kathleen McNamara and Ally Detre powered Morristown-Beard's rally on Sunday, Jan. 25.
McNamara's power-play goal with four minutes remaining knotted the score, 3-3. Detre fired in the gamewinner with 1:11 left.
Kendall Cornine finished with a goal and three assists for the Crimson (10-0). Christina D'Alessandro gave Morristown-Beard a 1-0 edge on a power-play goal with 6:52 remaining in the opening period. Maggie O'Connell was stellar in goal, making 26 saves.
Morristown-Beard 5, Princeton Day 1
A hat trick by Kendall Cornine highlighted the victory that pushed the Crimson's record to 9-0 on Thursday, Jan. 15.
Ally Detre and Kathleen McNamara also converted for Morristown-Beard. Cornine opened the scoring 51 seconds into the first period assisted by Keegan Heher and Ali Palazzetti.
Goalie Maggie O'Connell stopped 11 shots on goal.
Morristown-Beard 6, Pingry 0
Keegan Heher and Claire Chiperfield had two goals apiece to fuel Morristown-Beard's attack in this game on Tuesday, Jan. 13.
Kendall Cornine and Ally Detre had a goal each for the Crimson, who improved their record to 9-0. Detre and Cornine had two assists.
Cornine put Morristown-Beard up, 1-0, with a goal 2:29 into the first period.
