PARSIPPANY _ Morristown was named top seed in the Morris County Girls Lacrosse Tournament at the seeding meeting held at Parsippany High School on Thursday, April 20.

Chatham earned the second seed followed by Mendham and Mountain Lakes. West Morris, Randolph, Roxbury and Morris Knolls round out the top eight.

Preliminary-round play begins this weekend with seven games on the schedule. It will end with the championship game scheduled for May 6 at Montville High School.

Mountain Lakes was last year's champion. The Lakers defeated Chatham 7-6 in overtime.

The records given are the teams' records at the time of the seeding.
